Youth & Education
Developing Knowledge. Character. Leadership.
MCC provides young people with opportunities to learn, create, compete, serve, and develop into confident community leaders.
MCC Itqan Robotics
Where Young People Build More Than Robots
MCC Itqan Robotics operates in partnership with Itqan's robotics model and curriculum.
Approximately 50 students currently participate across two general age groups.
Students learn through hands-on experiences involving robotics, coding, engineering, mechanical design, hardware, teamwork, problem-solving, and competition.
The program operates Monday through Thursday.
Volunteer parents and coaches contribute significant time to making the program possible.
MCC robotics teams have participated in competitive activities, with MCC working to strengthen documentation of specific competition achievements for future public reporting.
Building the Youth Innovation Environment
The students are already here. Now the learning environment needs to catch up.
MCC is improving approximately 3,000–4,000 square feet of second-floor space supporting youth education.
Remaining improvements include areas such as:
-
HVAC and cooling
-
Electrical circuits and outlets
-
Lighting
-
Epoxy flooring
-
Painting and room finishing
-
Networking
-
Furniture and workstations
-
Computers
-
Robotics tables and fields
-
Storage
-
Safety and supporting improvements
Yusr Qur'an Institute
Knowledge Rooted in Faith and Character
Yusr Qur'an Institute provides Qur'anic education for children in a community-centered learning environment.
Approximately 15 students currently participate.
Classes operate Monday through Thursday, with options for different attendance schedules.
The program currently includes a paid teacher, volunteer teaching support, and volunteer coordination.
Growing Yusr
MCC's goal is to strengthen Yusr through four areas:
Better Learning Space
Improve cooling, electrical infrastructure, flooring, and the classroom environment.
Greater Community Awareness
Help more families discover and access the program.
Teaching Capacity
Add teachers as enrollment grows.
Financial Aid
Help ensure financial hardship does not become a barrier to Qur'anic education.
Families who can afford tuition contribute. Donor support can help maintain accessibility for families who need assistance.
Scouts at MCC
MCC partners with Scout groups 713 and 714, representing approximately 100 families across about four groups/units.
MCC provides a community home for weekly meetings, activities, storage, service, leadership development, and family engagement.
The Scout partnership also contributes approximately $10,000 annually toward facility use.
This is a partner-supported program rather than a separate fundraising campaign.
$50,000 Youth Development Initiative
MCC estimates approximately $50,000 is needed to complete remaining second-floor improvements supporting MCC Itqan Robotics and Yusr Qur'an Institute.
Rather than simply renovating rooms, the goal is to create functional environments where young people can learn, build, study, collaborate, and grow.
We're not building space and hoping students come. The students are already here.
